Star Candies Freeze-dried Chocolate Ice Cream Review

I've never had anything freeze-dried before, so when I saw this packet of freeze-dried chocolate ice cream on Amazon, I had to buy it. I don't have a sweet tooth, but I was curious as to what it looked and tasted like, and chocolate is my second favourite ice cream flavour after mint choc chip.

Aside from chocolate, this product is available in a variety of flavours: black vanilla, cream with wild berry, kiwi, mango, Sicilian pistachio, strawberry, and vanilla. I might try the black vanilla, mango, and Sicilian pistachio flavours sometime.

The packaging states it contains 100% real ice cream and that they are super crunchy and mouth-watering. I kept thinking they were going to either have no flavour or taste weird. When I opened the packet and took one out, they did not look appetising at all. They remind me of slices of Spam I would have with ramen.

I popped one in my mouth and was totally wrong and surprised. They are delicious. They taste exactly like high-quality chocolate ice cream, and the texture is very similar to a meringue.

I had a few last night after my dinner of spaghetti Bolognese as I was craving something sweet, and I could have demolished them all. But I had to refrain, as I needed to take a photo of what they look like for this post.

They are delicious and I would highly recommend trying them. 4.5 out of 5. I would give them a 5, but they cost £9.99 for a 50g packet. I won't be buying them anytime soon as they are very expensive. If they were about £3, I would buy these regularly. I'm glad they cost as much as they do, because I can see myself being very addicted to these, even though I don't have a sweet tooth.
